Day 8 Prayer

Writer's picture: Pastor Selah McLaughlinPastor Selah McLaughlin

Matthew 17:8 (NKJV) - When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.

Jesus is the object of our desire! When we set our hearts to seek the Lord, He becomes our main focus. To "Set" means to stare fixedly in a direction. In Matthew 17, the disciples witnessed Jesus being transformed right before their eyes! They heard God, the Father speaking affirmation of His Son, and saw Jesus talking to Elijah and Moses. Because of their close proximity to Jesus, they experienced an Open Heaven and their natural realm was invaded by Heaven! As we gaze fixedly on Jesus, our seek provokes the Heavens to open!!!

After these supernatural encounters, the disciples lifted their eyes and only saw Jesus. We do not seek after signs, miracles and wonders, but when we seek the Lord, the supernatural will occur. We will experience the realms of Glory. We will abide under an Open Heaven. We will see and hear in the Spirit, as our hearts become more tenderized in the presence of God. We become an open conduit for the Holy Spirit to flow though and out of us! Those are just a few of the manifestations that occur when we live in the Secret Place. But, like the disciples, our eyes must never leave Jesus! He is to be our heart's desire, more than His supernatural power that He has extended to us. Let's keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the Lover of our Souls, and continue to be Seekers of the Deep!

From the Father's Heart,

Seekers of the Deep Prayer, 01/18/2020

Heavenly Father,

My heart beats in the river of your love. I am consumed by your Holy Fire, as I seek Your face. Burn Holy Spirit like a fire and consume me even more! My eyes are lifted up in adoration and worship. I only have eyes for you, My Lord! All my senses are alive and I hear your voice so clear in the Chambers of your Heart. May this fire never smolder. May I never take my eyes off of you. May I never want your power more than your love. May I never seek you just to receive revelation or increase the anointing on my life, but may my heart always pursue you, just for who YOU ARE! I am Yours and You are my Beloved, in Jesus Name, Amen.
