Day 11 Prayer

Writer's picture: Pastor Selah McLaughlinPastor Selah McLaughlin

Psalm 23:1-3 - The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul.

Have you ever had one of those days, where it began hectic even before you got out of bed? Your phone receives an influx of texts, the kids are calling your name, obligations await your attention and you jump out of bed and get to the busyness of life without spending your quality time with God! Today was one of those days for me. Even as I sit down to write, my phone is still dinging. Lol! The hours passed as I worked on a deadline, and when I looked up, it was evening already and time to prepare dinner.

How did this happen? How did I allow life to interrupt my daily communion with the Lord? The truth is that life happens to all of us. We don't always have the quality time that we desire to spend with the Lord. There will be days where the hours evaporate before our very eyes. When we find ourselves in that place, we have to pause, turn off the outside world and MAKE time to commune with the Lord. All day, my heart was longing for Him. With each passing minute, all I wanted to do was close my computer and lay before the King, but I had an obligation with a deadline to meet, so I worked and worshiped. I created an atmosphere of Heaven through playing worship music and the Word of God while I attended to my tasks. I prayed in tongues and typed. Then, finally I was finished and with great anticipation, I ran to my secret place! I couldn't stay long, but as I prayed and worshiped, the stress of the day lifted and peace filled my heart. My Heavenly Father didn't condemn me. He loved on me and drew me close. Now, it's time for a bubble bath, lit candles and soft music. He restores my soul!

I share this with you my friend, because sometimes we feel more like Martha than Mary, but even on those days, Jesus awaits our Seek and receives our sacrifice. Keep Seeking the Deep because Deep is calling out to you!

From the Father's Heart,

Seekers of the Deep Prayer, 01/21/2020

Dearest Beloved,

I missed you today. My heart was longing for you throughout the day. I tried to stay connected as much as possible to you, but I was so busy. Even in my busyness, I felt your heart drawing me closer. Throughout the day, your love washed over me, and where there was stress, your peace invaded my heart. Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for coming to me, Beloved when I was too busy to come to you. It is truly you who restores my soul! I love and adore you. I wrap my heart around you and pour my love upon you. I draw close to you and seek you with all that is within me. May our eyes be locked in uninterrupted communion, in Jesus Name, Amen.
