The news is full of stories of violence towards, and committed by our youth. Our schools have been affected, as many of those same youths attend or face threats of violence in our schools. We understand that in order to make a change, we have to BE the change that we desire to see.
The “It Takes a Village” initiative is a community partnership that connects parents, teachers, business owners, houses of faith, and the community-at-large with students in our area high schools to be mentors, foster relationships, and offer encouragement. It is our mission to create a climate of safety and empowerment in our schools, and to show our children that they are not alone…their community (Village) has their back!
